English Language School
The English Language School (ELS) was founded in 1946 as part of St. Michael’s International School and provides high quality English instruction to non-native speakers. It has an enviable reputation established over many decades that places it amongst the most prestigious establishments in the region. The curriculum focuses on conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, dictation, listening, translation and writing. When students graduate from the ELS, they will have attained a standard of excellence in all these areas, providing them with a stepping stone to further advanced English study should they wish to pursue it.
Compulsory subjects are taught in the mornings, and elective courses in the afternoons. Electives include various advanced courses, English language teacher training, and preparation for the Japanese Government STEP Exams as well as TOEIC, TOEFL, and FCE (Cambridge First Certificate of English). There are also afternoon and evening classes for children and adults, together with returnees’ classes for children returning to Japan from overseas.

聖ミカエル国際学校英語科
本校は、1946年日本聖公会八代斌助主教及び英国USPGの 伝道協会宣教師ミス・レオノラ・リーによって創立された兵庫県公認の学校であり、外国人子弟のための国際学校と成人対象の英語科から成り立っています。英 語科には全日制、午後のコース、夜間部があり、さらに幼児から高校生対象の英語クラスや国際学校の教師による小学生対象の帰国子女クラスも開かれておりま す。
全日制
授業日時：
必須科目：月曜日～金曜日 毎日9：10～12：00
学期： 4月～6月・9月～12月・1月～3月
入学・進級・卒業：
クラスはグレード1・2・3とAdvanced Classの４つに分かれており 入学希望者は組分け試験により、本人の英語能力に応じたクラスに入学、各学期末に所定以上の成績を修めた者のみ進級が認められ、最上級クラス（Advanced Class）に於いて最低2学期の在籍後、所定以上の成績を獲得した者には卒業証書が授与されます。
教師：外国人及び日本人：
英国、米国、カナダ、 オーストラリア等英語を母国語とする教師達による授業により、異なった国のアクセントに触れることができ、自然な英語を学ぶ事が出来ます。

TOEFL・TOEIC・FCE(英国ケンブリッジ大学英語検定試験)・英語講師養成講座（初級英語の教え方）
会話及び英語全般に渡る英語による授業が、一週間
の時間割りに基づいて 行われます。生の英語を聞き、理解する力、実用的、より自然な会話力、正しく確実な 発音、イントネーション等に重点をおくと共に、基礎力は勿論、英語を学ぶ者に とって必要な知識を養成します。
