St. Michael's International School is a Primary School in Kobe, Japan, catering for children from 3 to 11 years of age. It is situated in Kitano, conveniently close to Central Kobe.

St. Michael's is a church school, linked to the Anglican (Episcopalian) church, however children of all races and faiths are very welcome at the school. We believe in fostering values of tolerance and acceptance in our children.

St. Michael's International School in Kobe has a warm, family atmosphere. We aim to provide a safe and caring environment in which children can feel supported yet challenged in all aspects of their school life.

Facilities
The school has well equipped classrooms for each year level. In addition, there is a recently refurbished computer suite, art room and library. There are computers in the classrooms that students can use to support work in all subject areas. There is a playground with equipment in addition to a roof top play area. The school has a good range of PE equipment and a performance stage.

Instruction at St. Michael's International School is based on the National Curriculum for England, supplemented by material from the various cultures represented in the school. Subjects studied include all aspects of the English language, mathematics, science and environmental studies, geography, history, computer skills and technology, music, art and design technology, religious education, Japanese, French language (for native speakers), physical education and library skills. Educational visits and swimming instruction are important additional features. Basic Numeracy and Literacy programmes are started in Pre-School and, during this stage and throughout the early Primary classes, much attention is given to the acquisition of basic concepts which will form the building blocks of a firm academic foundation to facilitate more advanced work in the Upper Primary classes. All mathematics schemes are based around the National Numeracy Strategy.
