Our School Values guide us

RESPECT
COMPASSION
INTEGRITY
TOLERANCE
HONESTY
ENDEAVOUR
RESPONSIBILITY

At SMIS the Student Leadership Council (SLC) also work hard to promote the following 7 values during their school life. The values are also prompted school wide through the RE curriculum. The first 4 values are taught in KS1 with focused work on all 7 values beginning in KS2. The new school mascots (introduced in August 2011), Daniel and Michelle, will be used by the SLC to promote these values in School assemblies, events and around the school. These values reflect a commitment to a just, multicultural and environmentally sustainable society. The aim is to develop the skills and dispositions of students so they can enact particular values as individuals and as members of the wider community.
