A warm welcome from St. Michael’s International School!
Our Vision Statement at St. Michael’s encapsulates what we believe in here at the school.
St. Michael’s International School will be the school of choice for Primary Education for the International Community in Kobe. Its education will be based on Christian values, which promote understanding, tolerance and friendship and encompass the spiritual, educational, social and physical development of students.
This education will provide a well-rounded solid foundation upon which our children can grow up to become open-minded, caring, compassionate and responsible international global citizens.
As part of this vision we offer a rich and broad education (based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales), where Christian values form an important part. We aim to develop each child individually and bring out the very best in that child academically, physically, spiritually, socially, morally and emotionally. Being a relatively small school (155 children) helps to ensure that the students here are educated in a pleasant atmosphere conducive to the development of understanding, tolerance and friendship towards people of all nationalities and creeds. Development of character and sensitivity to major global issues are also important objectives, together with firm foundations in all subjects. We aim to educate for the future, so that the students acquire independence of thought and are able to cope adequately with the complexities of the modern world. The staff at St. Michael's share this vision and find it really is a delight to be able to work in such a caring and educationally supportive and challenging environment.
